It's A State Of Mind - Focus

PGA Crest.jpg

Working with some of my PGA Golfing clients recently helped me re-apply some of the teachings to myself and in turn, the business.

When you’re “the expert”, it’s easy to circumnavigate the entire journey because you know a few professional short cuts that help your client get to where they want to be, quicker, sometimes easier and to get them ready to deal with the task at hand.

And that’s great, and it works.

The thing that sprung to mind in my recent endeavours was when the client needs to be in a particular place for a particular time with a specific attitude to achieve what they need to, so that they are in a position to not only compete, but also to win.

Without a specific “focus”, all of the efforts are simply that, efforts. Because we took the time to create ‘specifity’ in what we wanted to achieve, the focus on what had to be done and more importantly, the why it had to be done, was more tangible. As a result, they get what they wanted and I have another satisfied client.

It’s the focus that makes the target easier to see. By having the clarity, the detail and the reason, helping clients achieve that next level of performance has a much higher likelihood of success and the performance change in the process having longevity.
